The SFERA project aims to innovate the Tuscan leather and footwear supply chain through circular and digital technologies: processes for recovering leather waste and sewage sludge through combined enzymatic hydrolysis, the development of low environmental impact leathers and footwear, and a blockchain platform to certify ESG data and the Carbon Footprint are the key elements of SFERA aimed at strengthening and spreading the district's sustainable competitiveness worldwide.
